The Encounter The store’s shelves were filled with products of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Many held large red signs advertising their newly-discounted prices, while others bore only a small white tag. It reeked of cleaning fluid, tempered slightly by the appetizing smell of freshly-toasted sandwiches wafting in from the small connected fast food chain restaurant. The Earring Eater The door closed, and the room was left in darkness. The coast was clear. In a few short seconds, a monster scurried out from under the lace-covered bed and climbed up the side of the ornate dresser. The creature was barely an inch tall and had six glowing yellow eyes, two in each of three rows across its face. Where a nose would be placed on a human face, there was instead a single relatively large hand, outstretched, with three fingers lunging at the air. The Dancer I saw her walking slowly away from the train station. She wore a wide yet toothless smile, just small enough to be real, just large enough to indicate true contentment with the world. The Great FireThere was a crash, the sound of splintering glass, and the lamp had fallen on top of him. Boston stirred a bit sluggishly at first, having been woken out of a charge session.
